Structural Interventional Cardiology Fellow
We are excited to announce that Dr. Fabio Lima, MD, MPH, will be joining us as the Social Media Ambassador for the CardioVascular Interventions Summit (CVIS) 2024. Dr. Lima brings a unique blend of expertise and passion to the role, promising to support the event with his industry insights.
Dr. Lima currently serves as a structural interventional cardiology fellow at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). His academic path led him through prestigious institutions, including Brown University – Rhode Island Hospital, where he completed his cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships.
American College of Cardiology
Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Lima is actively involved in shaping the future of cardiology. Since 2018, he has played a pivotal role in the American College of Cardiology’s Innovation Section. His tenure on the Section’s Leadership Council and his current service on the College’s Future Hub Task Force highlight his commitment to advancing cardiovascular care. As part of his research interests, he focuses on leveraging big data systems and artificial intelligence to enhance the screening and treatment of structural heart disease.
Published Works
Dr. Lima has been extensively published on a range of topics, including the disease burden and therapeutic outcomes in structural heart disease, coronary artery disease, cardiogenic shock, and heart disease in pregnancy.

As our Social Media Ambassador, Dr. Lima is particularly excited about the opportunities to engage with leaders and visionaries in interventional cardiology, exploring their views on the future of the field over the next decade.

When he’s not immersed in the world of cardiology, Dr. Lima enjoys exploring the world of culinary arts, staying active in the gym, and playing soccer.

Fleming is a licensed insurance agent with over 36 years of experience in Life, Health, Estate Preservation and Retirement Insurance. For much of his career, he has been offering insurance in Valdosta, GA. He is a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Round Table and Court of the Table and has served on several insurance boards. In September of 2018, Fleming acquired the ownership of the Remerton Agency DBA Star Insurance.
Fleming graduated from Brunswick High School, Brunswick, GA. and attended Brunswick College. He is recognized as a Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF®) and is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA). Fleming has also been a past President of Life Underwriters of Valdosta and served on other chairs for the association.
Fleming has served as President of the Valdosta Bulldog Club and also on the board of several non-profit organizations in the Valdosta area. He is married to the former Kaye Chastain of Moultrie, GA and they have four sons; John Fleming, William, Wesley and Wilson and two grandchildren. They are members of the Park Avenue United Methodist Church
